Children & Family Ministry

Our mission is to be a community in which our children and youth can find, experience and share their purpose in life through God’s unconditional love and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

To participate in activities and events, all children and youth must have on file an updated health and release form (click the link to submit).

Children in Worship

At FUMC, we celebrate the wonder and joy that children bring to worship and always welcome children to stay in our worship service. We also offer options for children to engage in age-specific programming during our service. Our nursery and Sunday School are available during worship.

 

Nursery

Our nursery room is generally available for children birth through 3 years old during all worship services held at FUMC. Our paid staff member is in the nursery, along with a volunteer, each Sunday to create consistency and build relationships with our youngest church goers. The Nursery room is located near the Sanctuary just at the top of our staircase and elevator.  Our nursery also includes a calm, comfortable space for nursing mothers.

 

Preschool

Our preschool Sunday School offers children an introduction into the stories of the Bible and the love of God. Each week, children hear a Bible story and engage in themed activities that connect the story to their own lives.
Sunday School runs during worship service at 10:00am on Sundays. Preschoolers can be dropped off to our background checked and trained volunteer teachers up to ten minutes before service begins and picked up in their classroom following service.
Elementary
Our elementary Sunday School teaches children to look at the stories in the Bible with wonder and imagination. Each week, our children explore a story of the Bible and how it connects to their lives. Children are also introduced to a variety of spiritual practices, such as prayer and singing, to help them connect with God.
Sunday School runs during worship service at 10:00am on Sundays. Elementary children start in the worship service and are released after the announcements to Sunday School. Children can be picked up in their classroom following service.

Mom’s Morning Out

Moms Morning Out (MMO) is a child care program for at-home parents who need a break and would like to have their children cared for in a loving Christian environment. We have classes available for children birth to 5 years old. We provide snacks, Bible stories, gross motor activities, and crafts. Classes are held September through May, on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15am – Noon. The monthly fee is $67. Registration is required. Email Moms Morning Out for openings.

KidsConnect:

Wednesdays, after Mid-week dinner at 6:10pm. Through games, story time, and activities, children in preschool-5th grade learn more about God, the Bible, and worship, as well as how to apply these concepts to everyday life. Children also participate in cherub choir and children’s choir during KidsConnect. There is nursery available for younger siblings.

Community Events
