Saturday in the D 2.0 – Quarantine Version
9:00am on July 18th!

Our friends at Cass Community Social Services have provided us with another chance to load up the car and head out someplace other than the grocery store or pharmacy.  They have both inside and outside work they need help with.
Inside their World Building would be things like:
  •     Painting
  •     Hanging white boards
  •     Cutting and installing baseboards – straight cuts – no 45’s
  •     Scraping and Painting
  •     Adding plexiglass to some fencing
  •     Yard maintenance – weeding, trimming, mowing, edging
All tasks can be done well distanced with the exception of hanging the whiteboards (most likely a team of 2) and perhaps the plexiglass (also potentially a 2 person job). We will take your temperatures on arrival and expect the use of masks if/when you work closer together than 6-8 feet.
The plan is for each household to drive separately, meeting at the CCSS campus (11850 Woodrow Wilson St, Detroit) at about 9:00am. If enough of us show up it shouldn’t take long at all to get the work done. Right now the plan is to work until 4:00, but If you have commitments later in the day no worries. As usual, any time you can provide would be very helpful. Bring any drinks, snacks, and maybe a lunch that you might want.
Tools wise looks like we can use:
  • Paint clothes and supplies (rollers, brushes, rags …)
  • Light construction tools, drills, saws, …
  • Outdoor cleanup, weed whips, yard bags, trash bags, clippers, hand saws, etc.
Please let me know if you can make it via or 734-718-2183.
Thanks for considering joining in our second Saturday in the D of 2020. If you can’t make it on July 18, we are lining up some more opportunities in the coming months.
