MMDC RICE MEAL PACKING VOLUNTEER EVENT
AND RELIEF ITEM DONATION COLLECTION
Sunday, May 22 from 1:30-3:00pm or 3:00-4:30pm, Fellowship Hall
We have organized a meal packaging activity for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, May 22. There are two afternoon sessions, one from 1:30-3:00pm and another from 3:00-4:30pm. This is a fun event that is appropriate for volunteers of all ages and all abilities. It is a great activity for families to contribute together to an international mission. If you participated last year you’ll remember how fun and satisfying this was. If you did not participate last year, watch this VIDEO to see what it’s all about.
VOLUNTEER TO PACK KITS
We need volunteers to spend 1 ½ hours assembling the rice meal packages. Each meal package costs provides 6 meals. MMDC provides the instructions, materials, and equipment that we need for the packaging and arranges the shipment to needy Central American locations. You will need to bring and wear a mask; gloves and hair nets will be provided and must be worn. Six packaging assembly lines will be spaced and separated to ensure COVID separation. We need eight volunteers for each packing line for each afternoon session. You must sign up for one of the packing lines to participate. Sign up HERE.
Please help us cover the cost of the rice meal bags by sponsoring a donation HERE. 1 meal bag costs $1 and feeds 6 people.
Gracious Sponsor: 30 bags for $30. That makes 180 meals!
Generous Sponsor: 100 bags for $100. That feeds 600 people!
Hero Sponsor: a Meal-Packing Line (table) for $225. That makes 1,350 meals!
Appreciated Sponsor: Put any amount ($1-1,000) you like into the fund!
A note of prayer and encouragement goes in each bag, so you are sharing God’s love to all those who appreciate the meal as well.
DONATE RELIEF ITEMS
Along with the meal packaging, we will be collecting critical relief items to send back to MMDC with the packaged meals on May 22nd. The following items are needed (any brand, any size) for the relief kits but are difficult to ship or buy in bulk:
• Laundry Soap
• Dish Soap
Bring your donated items to the church by May 22nd and place them in the collection box located outside to the right of the church main lower entrance.
