FALL SERMON SERIES - 2017
THIS IS US: The Social Principles
Did you know that our denomination has something to say about the issuesthat confront us in this world? The Social Principles, while not to be considered church law, are a prayerful and thoughtful effort on the part of the General Conference of the United Methodist Church to speak to the human issues in the contemporary world from a sound biblical and theological foundation as historically demonstrated in United Methodist traditions. They are a call to faithfulness and are intended to be instructive and persuasive in the best of the prophetic spirit. What does United Methodism say about gambling, war, death and dying and human sexuality? Who are we called to be as we confront the issues of our time? These Social Principles are meant to help guide us, as we seek to faithfully respond to this world.
