Enjoy an evening of music with the Detroit Handbell Ensemble! The program features popular favorites, original compositions, and holiday cheer. Conducted by Brenda E. Austin and Kyle Webber and comprised of the finest handbell musicians from southeast Michigan, the Detroit Handbell Ensemble celebrates more than 20 years of outstanding performances showcasing the brilliance of the Motor City. Bring your friends and join us as we #RingDetroit!

The Detroit Handbell Ensemble has delighted audiences throughout the Midwest since 1991 with intricate, artistic programs. The auditioned performers are musicians, educators and professionals from across southern Michigan.

Two recent DHE highlights were performing the opening concert for the 2018 Handbell Musicians of America National Seminar in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and as the featured ensemble at the 2019 Area 2 Festival Conference and Young Ringer Festival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

DHE presents concerts in many local settings, including concert venues, churches and schools. They have collaborated with other music groups including the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra and the premiere Embellish Handbell Ensemble of Grand Rapids. As part of the DHE mission, music education initiatives include the annual Eaton Rapids Handbell Festival, which offers workshops and a massed-ensemble performance opportunity for smaller handbell programs across Michigan. The 2021 festival will be held on October 30.

The Detroit Handbell Ensemble performs with handbells and handchimes manufactured by Malmark Bellcraftsmen in Pennsylvania.
